By law, everyone renewing their driver’s license must undergo a vision screening. Instead of waiting in long queues at the licensing office, you can have this screening done by an optometrist. This service is offered in partnership with, and approved by, the Licensing Departments and the National Department of Transport.

While the screening does not replace a full eye exam, it can help identify any potential vision issues before you renew your license. After the screening, you will receive an official certificate confirming that your vision has been checked by an optometrist. This certificate, which details the condition of your vision, will be accepted by the Licensing Departments.
